I've owned several Gerber branded knives/axes over the years, and they've never let me down. Yes, there are superior knives out there (I know, I own one or two), but they're a lot more expensive than the Gerber knives, so I tend to not use them too much because I hate wrecking knives that cost me a decent amount of money. That's were Gerber knives fit the bill perfectly. They perform just as good as more expensive knives, but they don't cost so much that I'm worried about blemishing them while using them and they always get the job done. This knife appears to be a newer version of the Bear Grylls Ultimate Fixed Blade Serrated knife, but with a revised colour scheme and re-textured handle grip. Personally, I much prefer the more muted colour scheme of this knife compared to the black and orange appearance of the Bear Grylls Gerber knives. The best part though is that this knife is way cheaper than the Bear Grylls version was, probably since they don't have to incorporate the cost of financing Bear Grylls' endorsement package anymore. Anyway, this knife is just an ideal all round knife that can pretty much do whatever you could ever need a knife to do, and while I hate using this phrase, this knife really does "tick all the boxes" and then some. I haven't split any small logs with it like some people use their knife for (I use my 20-year-old Gerber Camp axe for that), but I've cut branches and made spear tipped sticks with ease and it's still very sharp, just like it was right out of the box. So, if you're looking for a great quality all round knife that will perform any task you could possibly ever need a knife to do, then the Gerber Ultimate Survival Knife is a superb choice. Also, the fact that this knife is available here in India at the same price as the UK (my brother paid 60 pounds for his back in England) from Outdoor Travel Gear is a real bonus, since finding a reliable retailer of good quality knives online in India has proved to be difficult since I moved here 6 years ago. Seriously folks, I'm actually so stoked that I was able to find a Gerber knife like this available in India that I truly feel like buying another one just to add to my collection, so my advice is to order one as soon as possible before I buy up all the stock, I guarantee that it'll be one purchase that you definitely won't regret. Cheers!! (Actually, just one more thing; I live in Kolkata and I my knife was delivered in 5 days and was well packaged in a box with a reassuring amount of Outdoor Travel Gear tape wrapped around it. So my ordering experience from OTG gets a big thumbs up too, just like my new favourite Gerber knife!)
